Tualatin High is an IB World School

Tualatin High is proud to offer a world-class, rigorous education with an international focus as part of its International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Students can either take the full program of courses and the IB Core to earn a diploma, or take individual IB courses in their areas of interest. TuHS has IB courses in six subject areas: English, foreign language, social sciences, experimental sciences, mathematics, and the arts. We also offer the core subject of Theory of Knowledge, in which students learn about and complete the Extended Essay and the CAS Program required for the diploma. Finally, the IB Seminar course is intended to support Diploma Candidates in their first semester in the program with a focus on wellness, the IB philosophy, and getting started on their CAS portfolios.

The IB Diploma Program is an internationally-recognized course of study that is found in schools around the world. Many colleges and universities recognize students' achievements in IB courses and on IB exams with course credit, advanced placement, or both. But the biggest benefit of an IB education is the level of comfort and lack of stress our students report when they go off to college. Our IB students are well-prepared to tackle the rigors and challenges of a college education.
